There is virtually no job security working for traditional companies anymore. The average position for the millennial generation is less than 3 years. There is no longer “jobs for life”.
Rather than being tied to your employer for the one income a solopreneur has multiple income streams, maybe doing diverse projects for many different clients. With the ability to market yourself getting more business is straight-forward if one of the income streams dries up.
